Founded in 2016 in Vilnius by economist and art critic Vilma Mačianskaitė, Contour Art Gallery relocated to its permanent space in downtown Vilnius in 2025.

For its first nine years, the gallery operated without a fixed location, focusing on artist representation, curatorial projects, and art advisory work. During this period, it organized numerous exhibitions across diverse venues, often in collaboration with real estate companies and cultural institutions.

Now based in a cultural heritage building with 16th-century brick vaults, on a street in Vilnius Old Town long celebrated by artists, the gallery begins a new chapter. Its program highlights artists living and working in Lithuania, while also welcoming selected international guest artists.

Recognized both as a gallery and as an adviser and agent, Contour Art Gallery is known for presenting significant yet accessible works by emerging Lithuanian artists. The gallery also plays an active role in representing Lithuania at international art fairs, strengthening its presence in the global art scene.
